License and Certification Qualifications: Georgia teacher certification required.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from a Professional Standards Commission (PSC) approved college or university required.
Experience Qualifications: No prior experience necessary. Experienced recognized on salary schedule.
Skills Qualifications: Up-to-date knowledge of applicable sports; ability to teach desirable traits of character; ability to organize and implement related sports programs; ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with other staff members and community support groups; knowledge of safety practices; knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools policies and procedures; effective instructional practices; ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents, and the community; excellent oral and written communication skills; and excellent human relations skills.
Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for leading the development and implementation of program functions and activities in accordance with applicable rules and regulations related to the sport.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
