Position Information

Individuals occupying coaching positions are responsible for developing fundamental skills and an understanding of the rules of the sport in participants, modeling and fostering cooperation, sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Coaches determine the system of play to be used and develop and implement best strategies and methods to carry out the system. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for participants and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity in their program. Coaches must also ensure student-athlete eligibility and monitor their behavior. Coaches oversee the issuance and inventory of equipment, maintain accurate financial and administrative records, and assist with program-related logistics. Coaches are responsible for staying current with industry standards, rules, and coaching techniques. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Season

Season runs January 19, 2027 to March 18, 2027

Salary Schedule Range

$3960 - $4728 per season (or $22.00 to $26.27 per hour)

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive sport-specific knowledge of the sport being coached
  • Head Coaching experience or multiple years of assistant coaching experience
  • Experience communicating with families, student-athletes, and the media
  • Experience with program leadership and organizational skills - including fundraising, managing ASB budgets and maintaining positive relationships with booster group and other stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extensive periods of time. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, or bend.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, twist, and work in and around tight spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • May work outdoors in extreme heat, humidity, and direct sunlight. Exposure to dust, pollen, and noise.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination to operate athletics equipment as needed.

Required to wear all required personal protective equipment specific to the task given.

- This position is not anticipated to qualify for benefits because it is a seasonal/guest role that does not meet the threshold of 630 hours worked during the school year or the requirements of a continuing position. Please see below for more information:
