SUMMARY

Organizes and administers all mattersrelated to E-Sports and enforces all rules and regulations of the NationalJunior College Athletic Association E-Sports (NJCAAE), PlayVS, and CuyahogaCommunity College (Tri-C), and the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference(OCCAC) where applicable as a framework to instruct student athletes inindividual and team fundamentals, strategy and technological training necessaryto achieve individual and team success. Enforces rules and regulationspertaining to conditioning of players and training rules affecting the healthand safety of players.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
  • Maintains and supervises efficient gamescheduling across multiple teams and NJCAAE divisions, ensuring health,safety, and growth of all players within a healthy gaming environment.
  • Facilitates intercollegiate nightly games fromE-Sports Center and leads clinics, practices, and tournaments.
  • Ensures compliance with NJCAAE, PlayVS, OCCAC,and Tri-C rules and regulations
  • Leads E-Sports program innovation anddevelopment, overseeing game streaming on Twitch, "watch parties", playereligibility and management, collaboration with internal stakeholders,player recruitment, and opponent scouting.
  • Enforces rules and regulations pertaining toconditioning of players and training rules affecting the health and safetyof players.
  • Organizes and runs staff meetings, and attendsmeetings when called by the Executive Director, Athletics, Wellness &Recreation.
  • Manages the establishment and enforcement of teamrules.
  • Actively participates in Tri-C and NJCAAE Discordcommunities, overseeing team Discord to ensure Tri-C/Team rules arefollowed and online spaces remain healthy and productive.
  • Provides emergency first aid and medical care inabsence of the trainer.
  • Provides and/or organizes team instruction onphysical health and nutrition, mental health, and professionalism.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by theExecutive Director, Athletics, Wellness & Recreation
  • May be responsible for transporting studentathletes in College-rented vehicles within the scope of departmentalfunctions. Must complete the Compliance and Risk Management process tobecome an authorized driver and be granted a waiver to transport students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years of experience coaching E-Sportsand recruiting student athletes.
  • Current or renewable Cardio-pulmonaryResuscitation (CPR) Certification.
  • Current or renewable First Aid or Ohio HighSchool Athletic Association (OHSAA) Certification
  • Commitment to student success.
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisionsthat affect a work unit or team.
  • Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem-solvingmethods in a variety of situations.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, and ABILITIES
  • Possess basic knowledge of fundamental E-Sports coachingconcepts, practices and procedures with the ability to apply in variedsituations.

  • Possess strong technological skills with PCtechnology, gaming platforms, streaming software, and consoles.

This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $20.81/ hour.

Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure .
