Job summary

KIDSUNITED Park Slope is seeking a Head Coach to lead our coaching team for children ages 1.5–11. You will coach using our curriculum, mentor assistants, and ensure every class meets high standards while supporting child development.

The role rewards leadership, communication with families, and building a positive, energetic learning environment. Weekend and evening availability is preferred; CPR/First Aid is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of youth soccer coaching experience required.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience preferred.
  • Passion for working with children and helping them develop.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to motivate both children and staff.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and provide constructive coaching feedback.
  • Flexible to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Coach engaging and energetic soccer classes for children ages 1.5–11 years old.
  • Deliver classes using the KidsUnited curriculum and coaching philosophy.
  • Support children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development through soccer.
  • Evaluate player progress and recommend appropriate class placement as children develop.
  • Ensure every child has a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience.
  • Lead and mentor the coaching staff through daily guidance and ongoing support.
  • Observe coaches during classes and provide constructive feedback to help them grow.
  • Train, onboard, and support new coaches.
  • Lead regular coach meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented coaching culture.
  • Build strong relationships with families.
  • Communicate with parents regarding their child's progress and development.
  • Address questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Help create a welcoming environment where families feel valued and supported.
  • Help maintain consistent coaching standards across all programs.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and strong leadership every day.

Position Summary

KIDSUNITED is an early childhood soccer and development center that helps children ages 1.5–11 years old build confidence, coordination, social skills, and a love for learning through soccer. Our unique curriculum develops the Brain, Body, Life, and Soccer skills that children need both on and off the field.

As the Head Coach, you will be the leader of our coaching team. In addition to coaching engaging classes, you will mentor and develop coaches, ensure every class meets our high standards, support player development, and create an exceptional experience for every child and family.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about coaching, enjoys developing others, and is excited to help lead a growing organization.
