High Point Climbing And Fitness in Orlando is seeking a Head Climbing Coach to lead youth club and competitive team programs. You will coach climbers of all levels, develop customized training plans, and mentor a team of assistant coaches while coordinating events and clinics.

You will maintain clear communication with parents and athletes regarding progress, safety, and upcoming competitions, ensuring programs run smoothly and safely in a dynamic gym environment.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching competitive climbing and youth programs.
• Strong communication with athletes, parents, and staff.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple programs and events.
• First Aid/CPR certification required; climbing certifications preferred.

Position Overview

High Point Climbing And Fitness is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Climbing Coach to lead and develop our thriving youth club and competitive team programs. This role is perfect for an individual passionate about climbing and dedicated to fostering the growth and success of young athletes. As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our youth climbing programs, which have been carefully cultivated and are an integral part of our gym’s community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership:Take over and continue the growth of our vibrant youth club and competitive climbing team programs. Maintain and build upon the existing positive culture, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for all athletes.
• Coaching and Development:Provide high-quality coaching to climbers of all levels, from beginners in the youth club to advanced competitive athletes. Develop and implement training plans tailored to individual and team goals, focusing on technical skills, strength, and mental conditioning.
• Team Management:Lead and manage a team of assistant coaches, ensuring consistent and effective coaching practices across all youth programs. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for coaching staff.
• Event Coordination:Organize and oversee competitions, clinics, and special events related to the youth climbing programs. This includes coordinating participation in local, regional, and national competitions.
• Parent and Athlete Communication:Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and athletes regarding program expectations, progress, and upcoming events. Address any concerns or feedback in a professional and constructive manner.
• Safety and Risk Management:Ensure all coaching activities adhere to safety standards and best practices.
• Administrative Duties:Manage program schedules, rosters, and budgets. Track athlete progress and maintain accurate records for team selection, competition results, and training plans.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in coaching competitive climbing, with a strong understanding of climbing techniques, training methodologies, and athlete development.
• Previous experience in leading youth sports programs, with a preference for climbing-specific experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with athletes, parents, and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple programs and events simultaneously.
• A passion for climbing and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive community within the gym.
• Certification in First Aid/CPR; additional climbing certifications (such as CWI or AMGA SPI) are preferred.
