Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues.

1. Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
2. Assist with customer assistance issues at the register
3. Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and keep cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots
4. Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention
5. Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks according to company policy and state law
6. Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and taking disciplinary actions when necessary

Qualifications

To be a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of cashiering experience with leadership training
• Be dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Display outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and be able to interact professionally with customers
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners
• Have good communication skills, be receptive to direction and constructive criticism, and work well in a team
• Perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance
• Pay strong attention to detail, be proficient with numbers, and handle cash accurately

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $16.70 - $22.55/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
