Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced front-end team and deliver outstanding customer service. You will mentor cashiers, oversee breaks and scheduling, and ensure clean, safe stores with strong loss prevention awareness.

The role requires 1–2 years cashiering with leadership training, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task while lifting up to 30 lbs. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a HS diploma or GED and 1–2 years cashiering experience with leadership training.
• Must be dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude and able to be a role model for customers.
• Operate front end equipment including register, calculator and scanner.
• Strong communication, able to take direction, and work in a team.
• Able to perform repetitious tasks, multi-task, and stay organized.
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move carts up to 35 lbs. as needed.
• Excellent cash handling and math skills; able to read, write and count.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service by proactively visiting registers and guiding Cashiers and Clerks.
• Assist with customer issues at the register and maintain service quality.
• Schedule store sweeps, monitor cash register supplies and keep restrooms/parking clean.
• Maintain exit door security visibility and address loss prevention concerns.
• Oversee breaks in compliance with policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and manage disciplinary steps as needed.

Overview Of Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing direction/support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assist in potential customer assistance issues at the register
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels and maintain cleanliness standards in the restrooms and parking lots
• Maintain visibility of the exit doors for security and loss prevention issues
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of appropriate meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements
• Assist in the hiring and training of new Cashiers and taking necessary steps for disciplinary actions

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers, representing as a role model in behaviors.
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner.
• Have good communication skills; the ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment
• Be able to perform repetitious activities, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 30 lbs., from 36” to 24”, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
• Requires strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers; proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills; ability to read, write and count.
