Job summary

Benton Harbor Area Schools is seeking a Head Baseball Coach for Benton Harbor High School. The role is a stipend position hired through EDUStaff and reports to the Athletic Director.

The coach will lead the Baseball program, design training and game plans, and promote fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among student-athletes while coordinating with administration and community partners.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Head Baseball Coach (Hired through EduStaff)

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

LOCATION: Benton Harbor High School

JOB SUMMARY

The BHAS athletic coaches promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Head Baseball Coach provides support for the team and works closely with the other coaching staff members and administration of the school.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of High School participation in Baseball
• Experience in coaching Baseball
• Ability to work with students

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• College playing experience is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and supervise the Baseball program and team.
• Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Design a training program and game program.
• Encourage multi-sport athletes
• Provide training rules to all athletes.
• Understand and follow MHSAA policies, rules, and guidelines at all times.
• Be a positive role model and mentor to student athletes.
• Evaluate all coaches in the program
• Attend all MHSAA, athletic department, and league meetings as needed
• Promote programs of teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Design training, practice, and team programs
• Manage and submit all transportation trips for away events.
• Coordinates all out-of-season team workouts
• Organize and supervise all practices and meets to ensure that the program is properly managed
• Ensure that all athletic activities conform to the BHAS Athletic Handbook.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
• Work effectively with booster clubs and other community organizations, if applicable.
• React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
• Ensure that student-athletes adhere to training rules, grade policies, and rules of behavior
• Ensure the continual supervision of student-athletes on the court, in conditioning, and in the locker/shower room.
• Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques
• Support the value of education.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Stipend position. This position is hired through a third-party vendor, EDUStaff.
