PRESS was established in 2005 with a mission to support the food, wine, and people of Napa Valley. Under the leadership of Chef Philip Tessier, the culinary team draws global inspiration while remaining rooted in the ingredients and style that make Napa Valley so special.
The Lead Bartender at PRESS is a key partner to the Beverage Director, assisting in all aspects of maintaining and evolving a Michelin-starred restaurant and bar program. The ideal candidate is well-organized, guest-focused, and confident in managing vendor relationships and inventory. This role requires a self-starter who can independently manage their daily responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop an industry-leading bar program at PRESS
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to implement new culinary techniques in the bar program
- Work with the PRESS farm to incorporate seasonal products into cocktails
- Collaborate with the bar team to create seasonal beverage offerings
- Organize and lead weekly meetings with the Beverage Director and management to discuss sales strategies, seasonal beverage development, and bar tools or product needs
- Assist with bar preparation and setup
- Educate staff on new and existing products during daily lineup
- Memorize all house cocktails and maintain an extensive knowledge of classic cocktails
- Produce all cocktails neatly, efficiently, and in a timely manner for the bar, main dining room (MDR), and private dining room (PDR)
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all spirits behind the bar
- Understand all food menu items, including preparations for allergies and aversions
- Ensure the service bar is clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
- Assist the Beverage Director while processing monthly bar inventory.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to walk at a moderate to brisk pace
- Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours
Compensation
- Work authorization: United States (Required)
- Hours per week: 30-40, depending on the schedule.
- Compensation: Hourly ($16.50) plus tips.
