Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Head Athletic Trainer position. Eastern is Connecticut's Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.
The Head Athletic Trainer provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight for a comprehensive athletic training program supporting varsity and club sport student‑athletes. The role supports organization and administration of sports medicine services, coordination of services with other sports medicine professionals, NCAA health and safety compliance, and athletic healthcare policy development. Minimum travel is required, although night and weekend work may be required. The successful candidate will have a major influence on future student‑athlete wellness initiatives. This is a full‑time, 12‑month position, reporting to the Director of Athletics.
