Description

Swim Team Head Assistant Coach:

Under the supervision of the Head Swim Team Coach, this position is responsible for working with the Head Swim Team Coach in the development of athletes through leadership, instruction and motivation. This position will also continue to explore ways to grow and develop the Swim Team.

  • Under the direction of the Head Swim Team Coach, this role is responsible for developmentof novice swim team groups
  • Works with the Head Coach to develop season plans, workouts, and other swim team requirements
  • Works with the Head coach on Program development, movement of training group requirements, and athletes' goal setting
  • Attends all Gators Home Meets, attends a majority of offsite swim meets, and attends 10 and under state swim meet; All other meets will be discussed with Head Swim Team Coach
  • Takes team responsibility at practices and meets in Head Swim Team Coach's absence
  • Maintains a high standard of safety during all practice and competition sessions
  • Remains available to Gator Swim Team members and parents to answer questions concerning the program
  • Assists in the distribution of recruiting materials as directed by the Head Swim Team Coach
  • Meets regularly with the Head Swim Team Coach
  • Adhere to all YMCA and FM Gators Standards, Policies and Procedure's
  • In Head Swim Team Coach‘s absence, this role will help guide Assistant Coaches
Requirements

1. At least 18 years old

2. 2 years of directly related experience

3. Safety Training for Swim Coaches

4. Required within 3 months: Lifeguard Certification and Red Cross CPR/FA Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant (may not be an online course)

5. Must be in good standing with USA Swimming

Summary

Shifts Needed:

Swim practices are generally afternoon/evenings after school. Summer hours can be morning and afternoons. There are also multiple swim meets on weekends throughout the year.
