Job summary

Oetiker is seeking an experienced leader to oversee accounting and financial reporting for our Marlette facility. You will ensure Swiss GAAP/local GAAP adherence, supervise staff, and drive accurate closing processes across locations.

Responsibilities include guiding AR/AP, enforcing policy integrity, and coordinating with cross-functional teams on financial system changes and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required (Master's degree preferred).
• 5+ years' experience as a certified public accountant recommended.
• 10+ years' experience in an accounting leadership role.
• Exceptional leadership abilities.
• Strong budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounting staff across multiple locations.
• Review AR/AP and general accounting documents for accuracy and approve payments.
• Create and implement changes to work assignments and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Analyze and resolve complex accounting problems raised by staff.
• Recommend modifications to policies to maintain integrity of the accounting system.
• Coordinate system modifications with units involved in financial accounting.
• Ensure accurate entry of transactions into the accounting system.
• Review staff-generated reports to monitor activity and ensure accurate financial records.
• Support Production Controlling with questions on reporting and efficiency processes.

Job Description

Position Summary
Responsible for drawing up accurate financial statements as per Swiss GAAP and local GAAP. Ensure that the accounting policies are adhered to and all BS & PL figures represent the correct state of financial affairs of the entity. Coordinate with other verticals of finance for timely closure of books of accounts and reporting

Essential Functions

• Supervise the activities of subordinates possibly in multiple locations.
• Review accounts receivable, accounts payable & general accounting documents prepared by subordinates for accuracy, completeness and conformance to policy; authorizes payments.
• Create and implement changes to work assignments, methods, or procedures to meet operational needs, improve accuracy and efficiency of the general accounting system.
• Analyze, resolve and answer complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates and others.
• Formulate, recommend, and implement changes to company policy or procedure to ensure integrity of the general accounting system; interprets policy and advises management of appropriate changes to policies and procedures.
• Recommend modifications to existing system and implements modifications through coordination with all units involved in the financial accounting system
• Ensure accurate entry of transactions to accounting system
• Review statistical reports submitted by staff to monitor activities, anticipate problems and ensure accurate recording of transactions submitted to financial systems.
• Support Production Controlling in regards to Controlling and Reporting questions and in executing efficiency and defined processes and guidelines.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of principles, practices, regulations, and procedures as they relate to purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and methods as they apply to financial statements.
• Knowledge of the application of data processing techniques to accounting systems.
• Skill in preparing accurate and complete financial reports from accounting records.
• Skill in both verbal and written communication
• Knowledge in SAP or similar accounting system (FICO)

Education / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required (Master's degree preferred)
• 5+ years' experience as a certified public accountant recommended
• 10+years' experience in an accounting leadership role
• Exceptional leadership abilities
• Strong budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills required
