Job summary

Shelton Energy Solutions LLC in Alexandria, LA is seeking a Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operator to safely run HDD rigs, install conduit and underground utilities, and ensure alignment with project specs and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 2 years of HDD experience, a valid Class A CDL, and ability to read blueprints. You will work on-site, sometimes travel, and complete required documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of HDD operating experience in utility or construction environments.
• Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain.
• Familiarity with underground utility construction standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate HDD equipment to install conduit, cables, and underground infrastructure.
• Read and interpret plans, job specs, and utility locates to ensure accurate bore paths.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain HDD equipment, mud systems, and tracking systems.
• Direct and coordinate with drill crew and locators to maintain safe work zones.
• Monitor drilling operations and adjust as necessary to maintain line and grade.
• Complete project documentation, daily logs, and equipment maintenance records.
• Assist with site restoration and cleanup after project completion.
