Job summary

Five Star Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Horizontal Directional Driller (HDD Driller) to operate drilling equipment for underground utilities in Wisconsin. The role requires reading utility maps, setting up rigs, and guiding bore paths with precision.

You will work outdoors, endure varied weather, perform inspections, maintain equipment, and coordinate with locators and crews to meet project specs. Travel to job sites may be required; a CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of HDD equipment experience (e.g., Vermeer, Ditch Witch).
• Proficient with locating systems (DigiTrak, Subsite).
• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate HDD rigs to drill and install underground utilities.
• Read and interpret project plans and utility maps.
• Set up and break down drilling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor bore progress and adjust to avoid obstacles and meet specs.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic maintenance.
