Job summary

NetApp is seeking a strategic Senior Commodity Manager for HDDs to lead the end-to-end global sourcing strategy. You will own supplier relationships, negotiate multi-year agreements, and align roadmaps with engineering, product management, and finance to secure technology, capacity, and favorable terms at scale.

This executive contributor role requires deep HDD industry knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a global, hybrid organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or related commercial roles.
• Experience in HDD industry or related storage hardware fields.
• Experience developing commercial strategies and negotiating multi-year agreements.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to influence cross-functionally and engage senior stakeholders.
• Experience in remote or hybrid global team environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the global HDD commodity strategy and supplier commitments.
• Build executive-level relationships with HDD suppliers.
• Lead complex negotiations including multi-year agreements and supply terms.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to influence roadmaps and costs.
• Develop market intelligence on HDD suppliers and dynamics.
• Identify and mitigate geopolitical, trade, regulatory, and supply risks.
• Lead supplier reviews and performance management across cost, quality, and delivery.
• Develop cost models and total cost of ownership analyses.
