Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking an Operator II in the United States to handle the initial processing of newly molded plastic pails, install handles and caps, and perform on-site testing documentation in the Positive Release System.

You will conduct visual inspections, assist with post-molding operations, and maintain clean, organized work areas while following safety and quality instructions. This is a full-time position in a food-grade packaging environment.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED with 3 months related experience or training.
  • Ability to read simple instructions and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information one-on-one to other employees.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 200 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and understands production schedule.
  • Assembles components according to the packaging requirements of customers.
  • Follows all instructions both oral and written.
  • Performs final visual inspection of package and components prior to pallet assembly.
  • Includes gasket installation, fittings installation, cap application, handle installation or other post molding operations as required.
  • Performs flame treat, sprue height, tag screws, excessive flash, neck flatness, weights, all hourly checks and records results.
  • Informs Machine Attendant of any quality or machine issues.
  • Keeps work area supplied and organized.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Knows common practices associated with the proper handling of food grade products.
  • Does not leave work area without notifying machine attendant, packing tech, supervisor or individual in charge of the area.
  • Prepare packaging supplies as required.
  • Follows all known safety and quality work instructions.
  • Readjusts or assists in the setup and/or adjustment of after molded processes.
  • Relieves personnel for breaks as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Follows all safety rules and observes Environmental Policies.

Summary of Position

Operator II positions are responsible for the initial processing of newly molded plastic pails. Operator II will install plastic or metal handles, caps, in Open head pails and tight head containers conform to customer requirements. They will fill out all paperwork associated with on site testing of which in the Positive Release System such as flame treat, sprue height/ holes, decoration, and excessive flash in a neat and orderly fashion. Perform final visual inspection of molded product prior to packaging and or storage in warehouse.

  • Readjusts or assists in the setup and or adjustment of after molded processes including flycutters, leak detectors, flame treaters, weight checkers, installation equipment for gaskets, using equipment for installation of fittings and expanders that are pertinent to the department.
  • Relieves personnel for breaks as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures and observes the operations to insure a safe environment.
  • Upholds Site and Corporate Environmental Policies by following all Environmental Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
Requirements
  • High School education or GED and three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 200 pounds by hand on conveyor roller system
