Job summary

Moffitt Services in Texas is seeking a dependable, experienced HD Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team. You will diagnose and repair diesel trucks, perform preventative maintenance, and document work orders to keep our fleet operating safely.

The role requires 3–5+ years of heavy-duty diesel experience, ability to work independently, and strong troubleshooting skills. CDL with Tanker/Hazmat endorsements are a plus; welding and fabrication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Experience working on medium-duty and heavy-duty truck fleets.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• PTO, tanker, hydraulic, and fuel system experience preferred.
• PACCAR Davie4 and/or Cummins INSITE experience preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements is a plus.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, pumps, PTO systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and related components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures efficiently and accurately.
• Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and inspection records properly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Work closely with operations and leadership to minimize downtime and maintain fleet readiness.
• Perform after-hours or emergency repairs when necessary.
• Follow all company safety procedures and DOT-related requirements.

- This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can diagnose problems, work independently, communicate professionally, and take ownership of their work without constant supervision.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

• PTO, tanker, hydraulic, and fuel system experience preferred
