Zusammenfassung

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Healthcare Technician (HCT) to support nursing staff with basic patient care tasks in a fast-paced acute care setting. The HCT will report to the Department Director and contribute to safe, compassionate patient care during 7P-7A shifts.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a CNA program (75 hours) or equivalent training, and the ability to obtain/maintain BLS certification. EMR documentation proficiency is essential.

Healthcare Technician (HCT)

The Healthcare Technician (HCT) reports to the Department Director and assists nurses in performing tasks related to basic patient care needs.

HOURS Full-time reduced, 7P-7A

Performance Standards

• Demonstrates service excellence, teamwork and communication practices that result in patient, family and staff satisfaction.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the expectations of the department leader and annual performance standards expectations.
• Adheres to Corporate Compliance activities, nursing care standards, and the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and Nursing Services.
• Completes and maintains annual competency mandatory training requirements within the defined timeframes (i.e. safety, annual in-services, corporate compliance, confidentiality).
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and productive in a fast-paced environment.
• Attends unit meetings to meet individual departmental attendance expectations.
• Demonstrates flexibility regarding department assignments and schedules.
• Demonstrates competence in specified computer applications and ability to document effectively in the EMR system.
• Demonstrates appropriate decision-making skills within scope-of practice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Basic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course (75 hours minimum) or successful completion of a workplace-based or military training program that provides the education and training necessary to perform Health Care Technician duties in an acute care setting, as approved by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) or Associate Vice President (AVP) of Nursing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification throughout employment.
