Work that Matters. The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is a national leader in affordable housing financing and community development lending. The Division of Homeless Solutions leads efforts to prevent and end homelessness through interagency strategies, policies, and initiatives. Responsibilities include leading the Maryland Interagency Council on Homelessness, facilitating cross-sector collaborations, administering grants, and providing technical assistance to local governments and nonprofits in various community programs.

This position offers a salary range of $69,323.00 - $83,769.00/year, with potential for advancement up to $112,044.00 based on qualifications, equity, and hiring guidelines. Initial offers are typically up to $83,769.00.
LOCATION OF POSITION
7800 Harkins Road, Lanham, MD 20706. Located in Prince George's County, near the New Carrollton Metro stop.
POSITION DUTIES
Under supervision of the Director of the Homeless Solutions Program, this role involves evaluating operational efficiency, developing policies, managing statewide grants, and collaborating with federal, state, and local agencies. Responsibilities include reviewing compliance and performance data, preparing analytical reports, and providing policy recommendations. The role oversees programs such as the Homelessness Solutions Program and other initiatives addressing homelessness. It also involves guiding staff and supporting grant administration to local jurisdictions.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five years of administrative or professional experience, including two years in financing or technical assistance related to housing development, neighborhood revitalization, community infrastructure, or historic preservation.
Note: Additional experience or education may substitute for the required qualifications.

Licenses and Certifications
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license in Maryland.
Selection Process
Applicants must provide detailed information on their qualifications, including transcripts or certifications. Foreign credentials require evaluation. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list for at least one year and must document eligibility to work in the U.S.
