Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston area is seeking a coder to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM coding for CMS Medicare Advantage plans and to maintain compliance with Official ICD-10-CM Guidelines. This role supports payment integrity and care coordination across our multi-specialty network.

You may work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., with in-office requirements only in Minneapolis or Washington, DC area four days per week.

Qualifications

  • Must have Coding Program Certificate or 2 years of equivalent experience.
  • Must show 10+ hours ICD-10-CM training or AAPC ICD-10-CM Assessment certificate.
  • CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, or CRC certification or eligibility is preferred.
  • ICD-10-CM coding knowledge required.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail; flexible with demonstrated work ethic and team orientation.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.

To ensure the accurate coding of diagnoses which fall into the HCC model as required by CMS for Medicare Advantage plans. To ensure documentation of diagnoses meets the requirements set forth by CMS and the Official ICD-10-CM Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Required Qualifications:
  • Coding Program Certificate, or 2 years of equivalent experience
  • Proof of 10+ hours ICD-10-CM training or AAPC ICD-10-CM Assessment certificate
  • CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician) or CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CPC-A or CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder)
  • ICD-10-CM Coding knowledge
  • Proven analytical. High attention to detail. Efficient. Flexibility. High work ethic. Team building
  • Proven ability to speak write and understand English
  • Demonstrated excellent problem solving, written and verbal skills
  • Proven ability to work with people of various educational, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • HEDIS experience
  • Knowledge of Medicare and other government or third-party coding rules
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certificates, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18 - $32 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
