Job summary

Fluor Corporation in Farmers Branch, TX is seeking a skilled heavy equipment mechanic to maintain and repair construction fleet and trucks. You will inspect engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems, and perform preventive maintenance in a safety‑driven environment.

The role requires experience with heavy equipment, rigging, and the use of common hand and power tools. CDL license is preferred, ASE certification is a plus, and you will work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

  • Two years verifiable experience in heavy civil construction equipment maintenance.
  • Valid CDL Class A or B license (preferred).
  • ASe certifications are a plus.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and brakes.
  • Ability to operate various construction equipment and perform diverse repair tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Follow health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of heavy civil construction equipment.
  • Inspect rigging gear and perform inspections.
  • Identify and use common hand and power tools.
  • Proficient in diagnosing equipment failures and performing repairs.
  • Oversee repairs by others when needed.
  • Operate diesel engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Maintain fleet vehicles and service trucks.

Job Description
  • Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements
  • Perform cleanup duties
  • Perform material handling and storage duties
  • Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools
  • Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment
  • Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics
  • Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware
  • Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks
  • Requires expeirence in full life cycle maintenance and repair of heavy civil construction equipment such as dozers, excavators, concrete and asphalt pavers, loaders, truck tractors, and other construction vehicles & equipment, as well as both light and heavy duty gasoline and diesel powered construction trucks/vehicles.
  • Requires knowledge of and experience with construction equipment, performing diverse repair taks,to include repair and/or overhaul of engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel, and brake systems, etc;
  • ASE Certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in maintainging fleet vehicles and service trucks to include fuel/service/oil/lube trucks.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair various types of equipment failures.
  • Experience in operating various t ypes of construction equipement.
  • Resolves and repairs equipment failures and mechanical issues as required/directed.
  • Operates and safely uses diesel engines, hydraulics &pneumatic operating equipment.
  • Two years verifiable experience is preferable for entry level position.
  • Required valid Driver License; CDL Class A or B is preferred.
  • May oversee repairs completed by other mechanics.
  • Examine, troubleshoot, restore, and maintain heavy construction equipment, fleet light duty vehicles, and heavy trucks and trailers, maintain construction machinery, maintenance inspections, assemble/disassemble/reassemble mechanical components according to their respective specifications, and perform general repairs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
