Job summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking a General Laborer for heavy civil highway construction in Texas. You will follow safety requirements, perform cleanup, handle materials, and assist crafts with tool use and setup.

The role includes rigging awareness, knot tying basics, and operating or assisting with equipment and signs for traffic control. This position requires endurance in hot/cold conditions and the ability to work at height.

Qualifications

Job Description
  • Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements
  • Perform cleanup duties
  • Perform material handling and storage duties
  • Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools
  • Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment
  • Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics
  • Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware
  • Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks
  • General construction craft laborer
  • heavy civil/highway experience is preferred.
  • May assist in supporting any/all functions within heavy highway construction, including but not limited to MOT (Maintenance of Traffic), concrete mainline paving - set up and layout, concrete batch plant operating and cleaning, truck wash out, and etc.
  • General laborer duties include assisting all crafts with material preparation, dismantling of equipment, distributing potable drinking water, cleaning areas as needed, delivering water to roller and plate compactors, preparing the pavement saw, measuring line for the day, sweeping and taking the deck, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned
