Job summary

Harlan H&R is seeking a compassionate cosmetologist to provide haircuts, styling, and shampooing tailored to residents at our facility in Harlan, Kentucky. You will maintain a clean, safe environment and coordinate appointments with residents and staff.

The ideal candidate holds a current cosmetology license with applicable state insurance, has prior beauty or hairstyling experience, and demonstrates strong communication and flexibility to adapt hours.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current cosmetology license and insurance, as required by state regulations.
• Previous experience in a beauty or hairstyling role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

• Provide haircuts, styling, and shampooing tailored to the needs of the residents.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of residents.
• Manage appointments with residents.
• Work closely with nursing staff to ensure residents’ safety and comfort, adapting services based on individual health or mobility issues.

Required Education and/or Experience

Must hold a current cosmetology license and insurance, as required by state regulations.

Previous experience in a beauty or hairstyling role.
