Job summary

R3 WOUND CARE AND HYPERBARICS seeks a dedicated professional to operate hyperbaric chambers safely and administer oxygen therapy to patients. You will ensure patient safety, perform pre-dive vitals, and maintain equipment and records with strict adherence to protocols and HIPAA.

The role requires an EMT/Paramedic/LPN/RN or Respiratory Therapist background, BLS preferred, and knowledge of hyperbaric safety codes. Flexible hours and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have EMT/Paramedic/LPN/RN or Respiratory Therapist background.
  • BLS certification preferred.
  • Up to date on hyperbaric safety codes.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive at work on time.
  • Ensure safety of all patients during oxygen therapy.
  • Open day: turn on oxygen and start hyperbaric chambers.
  • Ensure all chambers are in working order and maintained daily.
  • Perform pre-dive vitals on all patients.
  • Perform BG tests on first-time patients and diabetic patients as needed.
  • Know all vital sign parameters and emergency protocols.
  • End of day: power off chambers and turn off oxygen.
  • Maintain records of medical history, treatments, and results.
  • Support clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation and compliance.
  • Keep a neat, clean work environment and professional demeanor.
  • Comply with patient privacy and HIPAA rules.
  • Assist with other duties as time allows.

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and for patient safety while administering oxygen therapy to patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Arrive at work on time

Ensure safety of all patients

At beginning of day (opening) ensure oxygen is turned on

Ensure all hyperbaric chambers are in working order

Performs necessary maintenance to systems daily and as needed

Checks acrylic on all chambers once a month or more as needed

Maintain accurate records with regard to medical history, hyperbaric treatment and results of each patient session

Perform pre-dive vitals on all patients

Perform Blood Glucose (BG) test pre and post dive for all first‑time patients. Thereafter perform BG test on all diabetic patient’s pre‑dive and PRN post‑dive

Responsible for knowing all parameters for vital signs

Responsible for knowing emergency protocols and location of protocols

Ensure all chambers are powered off at the end of every workday

Ensure all oxygen is turned off at the end of every workday

Must maintain up to date knowledge on all applicable hyperbaric safety codes

Must have working knowledge of decompression procedures

Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation

Maintains competencies, continuing education and certifications as appropriate

Maintain a neat and clean work environment

Interact effectively with co‑workers

Understand and follow work rules and procedures

Always maintain a professional and tidy appearance

Maintain a professional and polite demeanor with all patients.

Comply with all patient privacy and HIPAA rules

Assist with other duties as time allows.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

Working well in a team environment is imperative in this role.

Must be able to work flexible hours

Must have a background as an EMT, PARAMEDIC, LPN, RN or RESPIRATORY THERAPIST

Up to date on all applicable hyperbaric safety codes

BLS certification preferred

Up to date training and /or experience in hyperbaric chamber maintenance to include mechanical background where appropriate preferred
