Job summary

Knowledge Builders Inc. is seeking a seasoned Data Governance Expert to design and operate data workflows, validate financial data, and enforce high data quality. You will engineer data solutions, automate reporting, and run complex queries to support governance and stakeholder needs.

The role requires extensive experience in data warehousing, SQL and cloud platforms, plus strong communication with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor's degree is required and NY-based, on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• 84 Months experience in Data warehousing, profiling, governance, modeling or data quality assurance for Financial Reporting.
• 84 Months of Experience in SQL, Oracle and other Database Management Systems, including querying.
• 84 Months of Experience with data visualization, dashboarding, using tools like Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI.
• 84 Months of Experience in automating data tasks like ingestion, mapping, reporting, testing, validation, analysis, using programming languages such as SAS, Python, R, or Excel VBA.
• 84 Months of Experience in providing governance and technical support. Liaise with data vendors/solution providers, internal stakeholders, other technology teams to support data strategy and initiatives.
• 84 Months of Experience with Data Cataloging Platforms (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation) to execute data profiling, data quality, data mapping and manage lineage.
• 84 Months of experience in writing documentation to capture requirements and logic, and encourage adoption of data catalog, data quality and data management processes and other data related initiatives.
• 36 Months of Experience in cloud-based data platforms, like Snowflake or Azure.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a technical expert to build data workflows, validate financial data, and enforce data quality. You will actively engineer data solutions, automate manual reporting, and query datasets to support Data Governance and business stakeholders.

Day-to-day Tasks

Day-to-day tasks may include but are not limited to:

• Translate complex business requirements from data stakeholders into technical specifications for data pipelines and automated workflows.
• Build and maintain data warehousing workflows and data pipelines using SQL and cloud database tools.
• Compile, compute, analyze and validate data using advanced statistical formulas and model calculations.
• Elaborate high-level policies and business needs into technical requirements (user stories/system use cases) to guide platform implementation.

IT Specialist - Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
