Job summary

Knowledge Builders Inc. seeks a skilled IT Specialist to design, customize, and maintain Jira, Confluence, and related service management tools. You will develop plugins, integrate with external systems, and support user adoption for project management and collaboration.

You will also document configurations, troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure security and compliance including IDP/SSO implementations using LDAP/SAML.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, customizing, and maintaining our core operational workflow and automation systems—specifically Jira, Confluence, and associated service management, application integration, and support services tools—to support our organization's business operations and process automation needs.

Day-to-day Tasks

This individual will be expected to participate in the following activities:

• Customization and Configuration: Customize JIRA and Confluence to meet the specific needs of our organization, including creating JIRA projects/queries/reports, configuring workflows and custom fields, issue types, and permission schemes.
• Plugin Development: Develop custom plugins and extensions for JIRA and Confluence to enhance functionality and meet business requirements.
• Integration: Integrate JIRA and Confluence with other software and systems, such as version control systems, DevOps continuous integration (CI) tools, and third-party applications. utilize tools or write ETL scripts to import data from external systems.
• User Training and Support: Provide training and support to users to ensure they can effectively use JIRA and Confluence for project management, issue tracking, and collaboration.
• Documentation: Maintain documentation for JIRA and Confluence configurations, customizations, and integrations.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues and errors within JIRA and Confluence, working closely with the IT and support teams.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor the performance of JIRA and Confluence and implement optimizations as needed to ensure system stability and efficiency.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that JIRA and Confluence are configured and maintained in accordance with security and compliance standards and also, Implement IDP and SSO solutions using knowledge of LDAP/SAML.

IT Specialist—

Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.

84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Requested Qualifications

• 84 Months experience maintaining and administering a multi-region CICS plex.
• 84 Months Experience performing problem diagnostics and resolution in a z/OS environment.
• 84 Months Experience fine tuning z/OS performance parameters.
• 84 Months experience analyzing z/OS abend dumps.
• 12 months experience with RACF security administration.
• 72 Months experience omegamon use.
• 24 Months Experience maintaining and operating MQ subsystems.
