Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Order Selector for our Fulfillment Center to accurately pick groceries ordered online, ensuring the highest quality produce, meat, and fresh items. You will verify dates for freshness, restock when items are out of stock, and strive to meet or exceed daily pick rate goals in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

• Researches out-of-stock items and restocks when possible to avoid shorting customers.
• Maintains or exceeds pick rate goals as directed by Fulfillment Center management.
• Adheres to Hy-Vee policies and Fulfillment Center guidelines.
• Reports to work as scheduled and on time.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately selects groceries ordered online by customers.
• Selects highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products.
• Verifies dated product during selection to ensure freshness.
• Research out of stock items and attempt to restock before shorting the customer.
• Maintains or exceeds pick rate goals as determined by the individual Fulfillment Center.
• Adheres to company policies and individual Fulfillment Center guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

• Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
• Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying of objects of no more than 25 pounds.
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

• The duties of this position are mostly performed in a warehouse setting.
• This position maybe exposed to dust, noise, and temperature extremes.
• There are possible hazards from moving equipment and possible electrical shock.
• There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
• This is a fast paced work environment.
