Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician I (Driver Non-CDL) in Grand Prairie, TX. The role covers emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill cleanup, and HazMat decon tasks with concrete equipment operation responsibilities.

You will respond to spills, perform DOT inspections, and maintain logs while operating roll-off/vacuum/box trucks, skid steer, forklift, pumps, and pallet-jack. A valid license and HazWoper readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• DOT Qualified or able to become DOT Qualified (Non CDL).
• Ability to pass 40-hour HazWOPER training on hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform HazMat cleanup, confinement entry and decontamination tasks.
• Operate equipment such as roll-off, vacuum trucks, box trucks, skid steer, forklift and pumps.
• Respond to customer spills during business hours and after hours.
• Conduct pre/post-trip DOT inspections and maintain vehicle logs.
• Keep the work site tidy and maintain equipment and tools.

Job description

**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Environmental Services Field Technician I (Driver Non-CDL) performs operational functions relating to emergency response and hazardous and non-hazardous spill clean-up and Hazmat Decon work.**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Daily work will involve confined space entry such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high pressure washing and various other remedial activities.* Operates light and heavy equipment relating to clean-up, including: roll-off truck, vacuum truck, box trucks, skid steer, forklift, pumps and pallet-jack* Responds to customer spills and emergencies during normal business hours and after hours.* Performs pre-trip and post-trip Department of Transportation inspections.* Maintains vehicle logs.* Performs general housekeeping, including maintenance of equipment and site.* Performs other related duties as assigned.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** Ability to use heavy and light equipment, such as forklift, and pallet-jack. Skilled using hand and shop tools, and instruments. Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
