Job summary

Clean Harbors seeks a HAZMAT General Laborer / Field Service Technician I to support environmental and industrial projects. This entry-level role involves handling and packaging hazardous and non-hazardous waste, assisting with spill response, and operating basic equipment under supervision.

You will follow strict safety procedures, wear PPE, complete documentation, and contribute to site cleanups while gaining hands-on skills in industrial waste management services.

Qualifications

• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER (preferred or ability to obtain)
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• DOT medical card (preferred)
• Forklift or equipment operator certification (a plus)

Responsibilities

• Handle, package, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials following strict safety and environmental regulations
• Assist with field service projects including site cleanups, spill response, and waste removal under supervisor direction
• Operate and maintain basic equipment such as pumps, pressure washers, and vacuum trucks as trained
• Complete required documentation, logs, and labels accurately for waste tracking and compliance
• Perform routine inspections of work areas and equipment, reporting hazards or defects immediately
• Follow all company, OSHA, DOT, and environmental procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Support emergency response activities, which may include overtime, nights, or weekends
• Work collaboratively with team members and clients, representing Clean Harbors professionally
