Job summary

Republic Services in Pensacola, FL is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport waste streams safely using class A trucks, including roll-offs and tankers. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule with possible overnight shifts based on routes and customer needs; weekends/holidays generally off except for critical business needs.

Role requires a valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain), DOT knowledge, and completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements, or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, and tractor-trailers to collect hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Perform LTL pickups and ensure accurate loading, securing, labeling, and placarding per DOT rules.
• Maintain driver documents such as logs, trip reports, and waste manifests.
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and maintain site safety procedures.
