Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team. This role offers weekly pay, a $5,000 loyalty bonus paid over 6 months, and a schedule of Tuesday–Saturday with two days off.

Home- or route-based work includes 48'–53' dry vans, manual transmissions, and regional travel with 1–2 nights out. Medical, dental, vision after 30 days, PTO from day 1, uniforms, 401(k) with company match, and more.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL with hazardous materials endorsement where required.
• 9 months to 5 years tractor-trailer experience within the last 10 years.
• Hazmat endorsement required.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Strong focus on safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal/state laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight as required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• $5000 loyalty bonus paid out over 6 months with the first payment at 30 days
• Up to $1923 weekly average
• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday with 2 consecutive days off each week
• Start Time: 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM Dispatch
• Hazmat Endorsement Required

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
