Job summary

Christensen, Inc. is seeking a Night Shift Fuel Delivery Driver in Tacoma, WA. Deliveries are scheduled with safety standards and customer service in mind, driving under DOT rules.

The role includes a substantial sign-on bonus up to $7,500 based on experience, and requires a Class A or B license with tanker and hazmat endorsements. Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip checks, accurate logging, and timely communication with dispatch.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B driver's license with tanker, combination, and hazmat endorsements.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple math for receipts, maps, and duty status.
• Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.
• Available for around-the-clock trips and irregular shifts.
• Must meet or exceed US DOT medical standards.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must pass an alcohol test where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to delivery schedules set forth by dispatch.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the truck.
• Dip tanks at the start and end of each delivery to verify inventory and safety.
• Maintain delivery/purchase records on daily logs.
• Communicate issues or safety concerns to management and dispatch.
• Maintain relationships with office staff and respond to questions promptly.
• Submit daily logs and delivery receipts after each shift.
• Report all spills and incidents to Operations Manager.
• Assist with other duties as needed.

Salary Range: $30.00 - $36.00 Hourly

Position: FUEL DELIVERY DRIVER

UP TO A $7,500 SIGN-ON BONUS (Depending on driver experience)

SCOPE

The primary responsibility of the Night Shift Fuel Delivery Driver is to make timely and accurate deliveries of Fuel to client’s facilities as specified by daily delivery schedules. This will be done in accordance with State and Federal regulations while maintaining company safety standards. The Fuel Delivery Driver is also responsible for maintaining client relationships, where applicable, and provide sales leads to the sales force as they arise. Fuel Delivery Drives ensures our clients are serviced with a level of excellence that best represents our company’s Core Values.

Significant Activities & Deliverables

• Adhere to delivery schedules set forth by dispatch.


• Perform daily Pre-and Post-Trip of the truck and report mechanical issues to Operations.


• Complete physical dip of tanks at the beginning and end of each delivery to verify accurate inventory and safety levels.


• Maintain accurate delivery and purchase detail and record on daily log sheet from stop to stop.


• Communicate with management and dispatch on client issues or safety concerns.


• Maintain relationship with office personnel and respond to questions in a timely manner.


• Return daily log Sheet and delivery receipts upon the completion of each shift.


• Report all spills and incidents to Operations Manager.


• Other duties to be assigned as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B driver’s license with tanker, combination, and hazmat endorsements.


• A minimum of 2 years’ commercial driving experience is preferred but not required.


• Must have the ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations with mental ability to handle receipts; read maps, road signs, maintain record of duty status, etc.


• Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.


• Must have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.


• Must be available for around the clock trips to accommodate freight movements and must be available for irregular shifts.


• Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the US Dept. of Transportation.


• Must satisfactorily pass a drug test.


• Must satisfactorily pass an alcohol test (if applicable).

Physical & Mental Demands

• Outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.


• Regularly required to talk and hear.


• Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing.


• Lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.


• Vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
