Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, seeks a Class A CDL Route Driver to safely transport and deliver gas cylinders and other hard goods on designated routes in Indianapolis, IN. You will perform loading, unloading, and thorough vehicle inspections, while maintaining accurate documentation and strong customer relations.

The role requires Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain within 60 days) and a clean background.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement and Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Handle the loading and unloading of all materials.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and maintaining the vehicle's condition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries.
