HAZELTON PENNSYLVANIA Quality Manager - Food Manufacturing

Responsible for leading and overseeing all quality assurance activities to ensure finished products meet company standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This role includes managing customer complaints through thorough tracking, investigation, and resolution. Ensure that all plant programs related to food safety and certification standards are effectively implemented and maintained. Responsibilities include preparing for and supporting governmental, regulatory, customer, vendor, and third-party audits. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing, training, writing, improving, implementing, and managing policies and procedures to maintain compliance across all quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide direct leadership and support to plant Food Safety & Quality teams, including strategic planning, project management, and issue resolution.
  2. Create, standardize and maintain HACCP, SOP and SSOPs, and audit programs.
  3. Perform internal audits, mock audits, develop corrective actions.
  4. Review quality complaints/troubles, corrective and preventive actions, and improvement of quality systems.
  5. Ensure plant Quality systems are established, implemented, and maintained.
  6. Oversee the performance of the Food Safety and quality system and initiate improvement activities at the plant as needed.
  7. Determine and administer food safety and quality training needs for employees.
  8. Has an understanding of the SQF Code and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF Systems relevant to the supplier scope of certification.

Skills and Specifications

  1. 6-8 years’ experience in food manufacturing safety and Quality leadership.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.
  3. Must have food safety and quality audit experience.
  4. Working knowledge of FDA regulations and GFSI/BRC standards.
  5. An experienced food safety & quality leader who can effectively work and influence in a manufacturing plant.
  6. A strong team player with the ability to work with diverse cultures who can work well in a dynamic environment and maintains a level of flexibility to support the broader team.
