Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or applied science or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of properties of hazardous materials (biological, chemical, radiological).
• California Driver’s License.
• Ability to review, interpret, and apply requirements.
• Ability to produce professional technical reports and briefs.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate DOE orders to support technical reports, plans, and analytic deliverables.
• Identify hazards and characterize potential impacts to the lab.
• Screen hazardous material inventories against emergency management requirements.
• Support security planning documents through asset identification.
• Apply dispersion modeling to analyze consequences of releases.
• Use GIS and modeling software to aid hazards assessment and response.
• Collaborate with emergency planners and researchers to maintain program consistency.
• Serve on the Emergency Response Organization with possible 24/7 recall.
• Perform additional related duties as needed.
