Veolia is hiring for a hazardous waste handler in Somerton, AZ. You will join a team focusing on removing hazardous materials from waste streams while learning relevant environmental regulations.

The role involves physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, forklift operation, and accurate documentation to ensure compliance. Starting wage is $20.00 per hour with full benefits and potential for scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience with hazardous materials.
• Ability to operate equipment including forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled spaces.
• Willingness to wear company PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport or dispose of hazardous waste according to regulations and procedures.
• Perform physically active tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Operate forklift and other equipment to move containers and load/unload trailers.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time per policies.
