Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a hazardous waste technician to provide remedial and disposal services, including spill response, packaging, labeling, loading/unloading, and sampling of wastes in strict regulatory alignment.

You will work under health and safety standards, with on-call responsibilities including nights and weekends. A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and a valid CDL with a Hazardous endorsement are required or obtainable according to role needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science preferred.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification required.
• Valid Driver's License required; CDL with Hazardous endorsement possible.

Responsibilities

• Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
• Manifest, package, spill cleanup, and coordinate transportation.
• Maintain a professional image to clients: answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.
• Comply with all compliance, health, safety, and procedures in accordance with VES-TS policies.
• Become familiar with DOT/EPA and VES-TS regulations required for submitting paperwork to expedite disposal of hazardous waste.
• On Call Emergency Response (Including Nights & weekends).
• Confined Space Entry.
