Job summary

Veolia North America seeks an entry-level hazardous waste handler to perform routine tasks in movement of solids and liquids under supervision. You may load/unload containers, operate basic tools, and assist with paperwork and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include housekeeping, safe handling of materials, and aiding in proper disposal per guidelines. A HS diploma or GED is preferred with 3–6 months related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–6 months of hazardous waste or chemical industry experience preferred; forklift proficiency and tool handling preferred.
• Ability to read and write; basic communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers, etc.).
• Construct boxes/containers and load them securely with labels.
• Use tools such as impact wrenches, shovels and jackhammers as directed.
• Transport hazardous waste materials within the facility per guidelines.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums according to RCRA rules.
• Assist in paperwork for material processing and transportation.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintain a safe, organized area.
• Inspect handling equipment as directed.
