Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a skilled professional to operate, monitor, start up, and shut down chemical waste incineration and related equipment at a power plant. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with permits, and efficient waste treatment processes.

Responsibilities include adjusting control panels, responding to alarms, and maintaining accurate logs while ensuring regulatory conformity. A strong emphasis is placed on maintenance coordination and a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s degree in environmental skills is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in the hazardous waste industry or control room power plant operation.

Responsibilities

• Make appropriate control panel adjustments to maintain permit parameters and ensure proper operation.
• Direct field personnel to respond to alarms and maintain normal running conditions.
• Keep accurate logbooks and verify burn plan and kiln data meet regulatory requirements.
• Follow daily burn plans and report problems or discrepancies affecting efficiency.
• Note maintenance items and assist in maintenance to keep equipment in good order.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and manage spills, leaks or fire hazards.
