Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a dedicated operator to manage chemical waste incineration processes at a power plant site. You will operate and monitor equipment, respond to alarms, and ensure compliance with permits while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires hands-on experience with hazardous waste operations, forklift and heavy equipment handling, and a strong focus on clean, safe plant conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree with emphasis in environmental skills preferred.
• 5 years of hazardous waste industry or control room power plant operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjust control panel parameters to maintain permit limits and ensure equipment operates per SOPs.
• Respond to alarms and direct field personnel to resolve emergencies while maintaining normal operations.
• Keep logs and verify burn plan and kiln data to meet regulatory requirements.
• Follow daily burn plans and report discrepancies affecting efficiency or delays.
• Note maintenance items and assist in equipment upkeep as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and manage spills or leaks to minimize disruption.
