Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is seeking a Field Technician to support Operators in cleaning and field work within environmental services. You will wear PPE, follow safety protocols, and report to the yard at shift start and end.

Duties include handling lockout/tagout, operating equipment, and coordinating with subcontractors on site. The role requires a high school diploma, forklift experience preferred, HazWoper training preferred, and 6 months to 1 year in hazardous waste.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• HazWoper training preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in hazardous waste industry preferred.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice.

Responsibilities

• Light Lock out/Tag out work and support field operations.
• Work with vactor trucks and operators in field teams.
• Supervise subcontractors to ensure safety and procedure compliance.
• Accurately complete service orders, manifests, chain of custody, and bills of lading.
• Assist subcontractors during client site cleanup activities as needed.
• Operate tools such as rags, absorbents, brooms, shovels, buckets and pressure washers.
• Drive a forklift and move materials as required.
• Label and mark non-hazardous waste containers for transport per regulations.
• Maintain current licenses and certifications needed for job assignments.
• Ensure proper records are on file with the company.
• Operate company vehicle for errands as required.
• Adhere 100% to PPE policy.
• General office and warehouse cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
