Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Hazardous Building Materials Project Manager to lead diverse surveys, abatement oversight, and design projects in the Northeast and beyond. The role blends technical execution with business development to grow the client base and project scope.

Reporting to the EHS & Air Practice, you will manage field efforts, produce reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Technical experience related to building hazardous material (asbestos, lead paint, etc.).
• Industrial hygiene, mold, or indoor air quality experience.
• Must have 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
• Must have EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector Certification.
• Must have New England State licenses/certifications for asbestos (MA, ME, NH, CT) or be eligible.
• Valid Driver’s License and pass AECOM’s MVR review.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and/or self-perform hazardous building material and industrial hygiene projects for private and public clients.
• Collaborate with licensed professionals on survey, abatement design, and remediation.
• Provide regulatory leadership for projects across New England, the US, and internationally.
• Develop proposals with work scope, budgets and schedules for survey/design/abatement and other projects.
• Manage or review technical work and field activities to ensure contract scope and standards are met.
• Prepare reports, work plans and technical memos; analyze data and draw conclusions.
• Collaborate with EHS, Environment, and other internal lines at AECOM.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and client value.
