Job summary

Resource Options, Inc. is seeking a Hazardous Building Materials Consultant to support environmental assessment, inspection, and compliance projects across New Jersey and New York.

The role involves asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold investigations; field inspections and project monitoring; and preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing field work with office responsibilities and have a strong understanding of hazardous building

Qualifications

• AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification required.
• NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector certification required.
• Project Monitor certification required.
• NYC Asbestos Investigator certification required.
• NJ/EPA Lead Risk Assessor certification required.
• NYSDOL Mold Assessor certification required.
• Project Designer certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct asbestos inspections, surveys, and project monitoring activities.
• Perform lead-based paint assessments and risk evaluations.
• Conduct mold assessments and indoor environmental investigations.
• Collect field data, document site conditions, and maintain project records.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection findings, and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Support abatement project design, compliance reviews, and project oversight activities.
• Review plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Assist with mentoring and training junior staff as experience permits.
• Travel to project sites throughout New Jersey and New York.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, client-specific, and regulatory safety requirements.
