Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Hazardous Materials Technician Floater (Insite Chemist) to support client sites in Oakland, Richmond, Alameda, Berkeley, and Vallejo. The role focuses on collecting, segregating, packing, and preparing hazardous waste for shipment in line with company policies and procedures.

The position offers a competitive pay rate of $28.50 per hour DOE, full-time hours, and benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Hazardous waste experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Health and Safety is the top priority by following all safe work practices.
• Make chemical pickups at customer facilities as directed.
• Conduct chemical bulking/consolidation as required.
• Proper loading, packing and segregation of waste to maintain compliance.
• Keep work area neat and orderly.
• Assist other chemists with lab pack projects.
• Participate in spill response on site as needed.
