Job summary

Inmar is seeking a Regulatory Compliance professional to oversee hazardous waste management and regulatory duties across facilities. The role involves ensuring DOT/FDA/EPA/OSHA compliance, preparing documentation, and supporting client regulatory audits.

Some travel is required, and the environment is warehouse-oriented. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree (Environmental preferred), CHMP or equivalent, and 5–7 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Certifications - CHMP (Certified Hazardous Materials Professional) or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental.
  • 5-7 Years work experience and/or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance with hazardous waste regulations and related SOPs/policies.
  • Facilitate implementation of new/updated hazardous waste regulations.
  • Support client specific requirements for waste handling, recycling, and sustainability.
  • Maintain all documentation related to hazardous waste management including shipment documents and inspections.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections involving government agencies.
  • Assist facility audits of the hazardous waste program and corrective action tracking.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Client Services to support Regulatory and Compliance.
  • Build relationships with local/state/federal agencies during audits/inspections.
  • Execute and maintain all aspects of the hazardous waste program.
  • Conduct weekly audits of central accumulation areas and satellite areas.

Job description

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Sr. Manager of Safety, this role provides guidance and hands-on support to Safety and Operations teams across Inmar Rx facilities in all applicable regulated areas involving consumer goods and Rx returns, including interactions with governmental agencies, clients, and prospective customers. The position is directly responsible for completing comprehensive regulatory and compliance tasks for Inmar Rx facilities, supporting client regulatory audits, and maintaining an operating environment that meets all applicable compliance standards. This role also plays a critical part in supporting business growth by ensuring prospective and existing client requirements are met to maintain strong business relationships and regulatory compliance for client products and materials. The individual must be self-driven, highly motivated, and capable of managing responsibilities with minimal upper management involvement. While the position is based in a warehouse operations environment, regional travel may be required. Success in this role requires strong industry knowledge of regulations impacting the business, including DOT, FDA, EPA, OSHA, and applicable state regulatory requirements.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Operational and Strategic (50%)
  • Manage compliance with hazardous waste regulations and related SOPs/policies.
  • Facilitate implementation of new/updated hazardous waste regulations.
  • Support client specific requirements for waste handling, recycling, and sustainability.
  • Maintain all documentation related to hazardous waste management including all shipment documentation and required inspections.
  • Participate as required in all regulatory inspections involving any government agency including local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in facility audits of the hazardous waste program, provide feedback to Operations, and assist in development of corrective action plan tracking.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal stakeholders (i.e. Operations, Safety, Client Services) to support Regulatory and Compliance functions within the facility.
  • Partner and build relationships with local, state, and federal agencies during audit/inspection support.
  • Execute and maintain all aspects of the hazardous waste program.
  • Conduct weekly audits of central accumulation area and satellite accumulation areas to include container integrity, accumulation time limits, container markings.
Project Management (20%)
  • Assist with development and monitoring of hazardous waste projects and initiatives including but not limited to monitoring recall waste management and client onboarding.
Analytical (20%)
  • Provide hazardous waste information to Operations to support hazardous waste program compliance as well as client based specific requirements.
  • Maintain Department of Transportation/DOT HazMat Ground Shipper certification.
  • Track shipments and costs through internal programs.
Influence (10%)
  • Support and provide direction to Operations on Regulatory and Compliance matters.
  • Support the Safety and Fire Safety program in the facility.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Environmental Science degrees a plus)
  • Certifications - CHMP (Certified Hazardous Materials Professional) or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental.
  • 5-7 Years work experience and/or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position.
  • Travel time 10-25%
