Job summary

The Hazard Mitigation Monitoring Program Specialist (PS) 1 is an entry-level, non-supervisory role within the State of Louisiana. The position provides guidance on project applications, documentation, invoices, and reimbursement requests for FEMA-funded hazard mitigation grants.

It requires independent work, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to travel across Louisiana. Occasional overnight travel and long shifts during emergencies may be required; the role offers comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in accounting, business, finance, engineering, architecture, construction management or similar field, or 4 years of related experience.
  • Must have effective oral/written communications and work independently.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications is necessary.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel.
  • Overnight travel may be required and shifts can extend during emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with sub-grantees and Grants Administrators to track FEMA funds and ensure timely closeouts.
  • Prepare grant documentation, information, and financial reports for completeness and compliance.
  • Support sub-grantees with program implementation and troubleshooting of issues.
