Job summary

C2 ALASKA, LLC in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Hazard Material Laboratory Custodian responsible for general upkeep, cleaning, restocking, and securing interior facilities as assigned by supervision.

Responsibilities include floor stripping, sealing, polishing, vacuuming, and sanitizing areas, reporting hazards, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. High school diploma preferred; ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Medical / Occupational Clearance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up trash and replace liners.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Vacuum, mop, and sweep all floor areas.
  • Dust, wash glass, and sanitize areas.
  • Report hazards and needed repairs.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely.
  • Know the in-use equipment and follow infection control.
  • Understand supplies and proper use for safety.
  • Meet training requirements.
  • Adhere to safety standards and procedures.
  • Close and secure rooms when exiting.
  • Follow directions and identify hazards.
  • Carry out daily cleaning procedures.

Summary

The Hazard Material Laboratory Custodian is primarily responsible for general upkeep, maintenance cleaning, restocking, and securing of interior buildings/facilities/lobby’s office areas, restrooms and all areas determined by contract or assigned by supervisor

Responsibilities
  • Pick up trash and replace with trash liners
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
  • Vacuum, mop, and sweep all floor areas
  • Dust, wall spot, clean all glass, polish, sanitize all areas.
  • Wash, clean, wipe down, sponge, rinse, scour and disinfect any assigned work area
  • Note and report all areas in need of repair and any hazardous condition requiring correction.
  • Operate floor cleaning and other cleaning equipment
  • Have a working knowledge of all in-use equipment and must practice infection control, safety and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Have product knowledge of all in-use supplies as well as, the correct use and applications, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Meet and adhere to the training requirement required by the contract
  • Continuously recognize and emphasize the importance of job safety and infection control standards through employee awareness training and unit expectations
  • Close and secure all rooms upon exiting
  • Follow directions and instructions.
  • Identify safety and hazards and act accordingly.
  • Carry out proper cleaning procedures daily.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent Preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to obtain Medical / Occupational Clearance
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to complete task to the highest standards possible.
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions.
  • Previous work experience Preferred.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and requirements and all policies and procedures
  • Ability to lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
