Job summary

Nordic PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to join the Hawaii district within the US Buildings sector for a 3–4 month period starting May 2027.

Responsibilities include document control, drawing updates, material expediting, and site coordination with crews and engineers. The candidate should be pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field, with a 3.0+ GPA and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Desire to pursue a career in the construction industry after graduation.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply basic construction principles.
  • Clear verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining project document controls and procedures.
  • Assisting with updating drawings and specifications.
  • Assisting with inventorying and warehousing of materials and equipment as well as expediting material orders.
  • Preparing quantity takeoffs as directed.
  • Assisting with third-party inspections and site reviews.
  • Assisting in tracking time, materials, and equipment.
  • Liaising with subcontractors, field crews, engineers, and consultants on field details.
  • Other duties as required.
