Job summary

Foster Farms in Waterford, CT is seeking team members to support our hatchery operations. You will monitor incubators and hatch machines, adjust settings, and perform light maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

This position pays $18.50/hour with additional evening and overnight premiums; you will load eggs and chicks, lift heavy racks, follow sanitation and disease-control policies, and operate pallet jacks or forklifts.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Some mechanical aptitude to fix incubators and hatchers.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 35 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop and reach above head.
• Able to move full egg racks weighing approximately 1400–1600 pounds.
• Ability to use sanitation tools (i.e., power hoses, foggers).
• Must adhere to disease control policies.
• Must be certifiable to operate a pallet jack and/or forklift.

Responsibilities

• Monitor incubator and hatch machines; perform light maintenance and troubleshoot.
• Set the right eggs as per the set sheet.
• Monitor room temperature and humidifiers.
• Tray eggs per set sheet; load/unload eggs or chicks; transfer, sanitation, and fog hatchery rooms.
