Job summary

Tyson Foods in Alabama is seeking a Hatchery Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a hatchery, monitor incubation, and ensure timely chick delivery and movement to farms across the region.

You will supervise a team, maintain comprehensive logs, and coordinate with farming operations. Responsibilities include grading flocks, preparing vaccines, and performing additional duties as assigned. Strong supervisory experience and hatchery exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education beyond high school including vocational or college courses.
• 2 years supervision experience; hatchery or live production experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with MS Office, Kronos, UKG or SAP.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operations of a single hatchery, monitoring day-to-day activities.
• Formulate strategies for future improvement and ensure chick delivery as per schedule.
• Complete chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets and mortality charts; maintain logs for each truck.
• Oversee movement of chicks to farms according to shipment schedule; monitor incubation and hatchery equipment.
• Grade eggs, prepare vaccines, supervise personnel, and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supervising the operations of a specific hatchery by monitoring the day-to-day activities as well as formulating strategies for future improvement. This includes completing the chick delivery sheets as well as flock pull sheets and mortality charts keeping logs on each truck consisting of miles and hours worked by each driver and ensuring movement of chicks to farms according to shipment schedule. Other responsibilities include monitoring the incubation and hatchery equipment as well as the environmental control equipment overseeing chick deliver and pick-up and supervising personnel on a daily basis. Other duties include grading flocks of eggs from hen farms preparing vaccines to be given to the chickens and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. Any other duties as assigned by manager. Highly recommended to include a resume in a PDF or Word Document format.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Requires education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses. Experience: 2 years experience in supervision. Jamesway hatchery experience, hatchery experience, or live production experience preferred. Computer Skills: Basic Computer skills. Microsoft Office, Kronos, UKG, SAP preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities. Travel: 1 - 2 per year.
